Udon
๐ ๐๐
In the spirit of play and just Trying Things, I have started a small morning practice of scribbling out a comic of the day before. I have been journaling in the morning most days for a couple years now (!!!) but I rarely look back on it because frankly itโsโฆboring! And often also tedious and petty. I wanted to challenge myself to succinctly boil down key or interesting parts of my day into a mini comic. I donโt beat myself up if I donโt do it everyday and Iโm usually under a time constraint of 10 minutes (I have to get to work).
This time I cleaned up my comic into something readable for you, my lovely Substack readers, about my recent adventures to an udon making workshop. Itโs was much more fun and entertaining than I thought! I went with a Japanese and foreign friend. We sang! We danced! There were speeches! The junior high school students next to us kept saying โhellllooooooooโ to us, the only foreigners. I learned that the udon making process is much more labor intensive than I realized (you really have to use your strength). I will be much grateful to the udon I eat in the future ๐.
Hope you enjoyed my comic!

Sayonara and see you!
